Polling officially opened at 8:00 a.m. across various precinct centers, with residents turning out early to participate in the democratic process. The election has drawn significant attention from political observers and citizens alike, many viewing it as a pivotal moment for the county’s political future.

According to the National Elections Commission (NEC), voting is scheduled to end at 6:00 p.m. However, NEC has confirmed that in areas where polling stations experience late starts or delays, voting hours will be extended to ensure all registered voters have the opportunity to cast their ballots.

The by-election is being closely watched as a potential turning point in Nimba’s political landscape, following decades of dominance by the influential late senator. Several candidates are contesting to succeed him, making the outcome uncertain and of national interest.

Security remains tight, and election observers are present throughout the county to monitor proceedings.
