Liberia’s Education Minister Jarso Jallah Inspires Cuttington University Of 2025 To Lead With Integrity And Innovation

SUAKOKO, BONG COUNTY – Liberia’s Minister of Education, Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah, on Saturday, June 21, 2025, delivered a stirring address as keynote speaker at Cuttington University’s 63rd Commencement Convocation, challenging the graduating Class of 2025 to lead lives rooted in excellence, service, and innovation.

Speaking to a crowd of students, faculty, families, and dignitaries at the university’s main campus in Suakoko, Dr. Jallah underscored the critical role of education in driving national transformation. She called on the 707 graduates to rise above mediocrity and commit themselves to solving real-world problems with boldness and compassion.

“Let excellence, integrity, and service be your guiding principles,” Dr. Jallah declared. “Be bold in action, generous in spirit, and collaborative in purpose. Use your education as a force for good, to solve problems, uplift your communities, and contribute to Liberia’s sustainable development.”

The commencement marked a milestone for Cuttington University, with degrees conferred upon graduates from its three campuses: Suakoko, Monrovia, and Kakata. The Suakoko campus produced the largest number of graduates, totaling 254, with students earning degrees in disciplines such as Agriculture and Sustainable Development (15), Business and Public Administration (42), and Health Sciences (93).

Cuttington University President Dr. Romelle A. Horton praised the graduates for their resilience and academic success, assuring them that the university remains committed to nurturing ethical leaders equipped to address Liberia’s most pressing challenges.

“You are well-prepared to lead, serve, and drive meaningful progress,” Dr. Horton told the graduates. “Let the knowledge you’ve gained serve as a catalyst for building a stronger, more resilient nation.”

The ceremony was not only a celebration of academic achievement but also a reaffirmation of Cuttington University’s mission to shape future leaders through rigorous scholarship, moral discipline, and civic engagement.
