The Liberia National Police (LNP) and the AME University have entered into an agreement that is intended to enhance professional competency and capacity building.
Police Inspector General (IG), Gregory Coleman, signed on behalf of the LNP while AME University President, Rev. Dr. Alvin Attah, signed on behalf of his institution. The MoU requires the AME University, through its Criminal Justice and Forensic Science Department, to, among others, deliver academic and professional courses to personnel of the LNP.
The LNP will, among others, be required to provide internship and possible employment opportunities for the students of AMEU Criminal Justice and Forensic Science Department.
President Attah hailed the agreement as a significant milestone in building a strong relationship between academics and law enforcement.
“As we strive to build and consolidate a culture of academic excellence and professional development here at AMEU, we consider moments like these as significant steps to actualizing such a goal,” AME University President Reverend Dr. Alvin Attah asserted.
The Police Inspector General Gregory Coleman praised the AME University for committing to such a wonderful partnership. Describing the MoU as a win-win for both parties, Inspector General Coleman said it aligns with their vision of capacity building within the LNP.
“We will keep moving forward and exploring every possible opportunity for the professional advancement of our officers,” IGl Coleman announced.
