Ministry of Health fast-tracks Q3 drugs and medical distribution.

(Monrovia, Liberia, July 15, 2025) – The Ministry of Health (MOH) has commenced its third quarter (Q3) distribution of essential medicines and medical supplies ahead of schedule.

The accelerated rollout, mandated by Health Minister Dr. Louise M. Kpoto, is a proactive measure to avoid logistical disruptions posed by upcoming road closures mandated by the Ministry of Public Works.

Dr. Joshua Tarpeh Peters Jr., Director of Pharmaceutical Services and Chief Pharmacist of the Republic of Liberia, stated that the early start is a strategic effort to ensure supply chain continuity.

“We have begun the deployment of trucks on unpaved routes, including the picking, verification, and packing of essential medicines and supplies for all programs at the Central Medical Store (CMS) warehouse in Caldwell,” Dr. Peters noted.

The World Food Programme (WFP), a key logistics partner to the Ministry, will commence transporting health commodities to county depots, hospitals, health centers, and last-mile facilities starting July 17, 2025.

The distribution is projected to be completed by July 28, 2025, covering all counties that rely on unpaved road corridors and are likely to be affected by the Ministry of Public Works’ upcoming infrastructure activities.

The Ministry has assured the public and healthcare providers of its readiness to monitor and support the supply chain to prevent any stockouts during the third quarter period.
