Monrovia, June 23, 2025: The Ministry of Education (MOE) in collaboration with the Liberia National Police (LNP) has announced an immediate ban on all street parades, gala day celebrations, graduation celebrations, and WASSCE-related festivities across Liberia.
The new measure is intended to curb public disturbances and ensure compliance with safety regulations during school events.
Speaking Thursday during the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs, and Tourism (MICAT) regular press briefing in Monrovia, MICAT Deputy Minister, Daniel Sanoe, emphasized that schools are now encouraged to conduct all celebratory activities in controlled environments such as stadiums or town halls, instead of public roads.
Minister Sanoe noted that the LNP will closely monitor this compliance and enforce the regulations, warning that violators will face legal penalties.
he says, the policy is aimed at promoting safe and respectful celebrations and urged school administrators, parents, and students to cooperate in maintaining public order.
