PLEEBO, Maryland County: The Maryland Oil Palm Plantation (MOPP), in collaboration with the Maryland County local government and other partners, has dedicated a newly constructed health center in Wlowein Community, Karluway District, aimed at improving access to basic healthcare services.

The facility was constructed through MOPP’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative and is expected to serve residents of Wlowein and surrounding communities.

The dedication ceremony brought together representatives of MOPP and CRC, Karluway District authorities, traditional leaders, members of the Maryland County Health Team and residents of the community.

Speaking at the ceremony, Maryland County Superintendent Nathaniel S. Toe Jr. commended MOPP and its partners for the project, describing the health center as an important investment in the well-being of residents.

Toe reaffirmed the local government’s commitment to working with concession companies operating in the county to ensure that they fulfill their corporate social responsibility obligations to affected communities.

The health center, constructed by Renewal Construction Company, was formally turned over through MOPP and CRC to the Wlowein Community and the Ministry of Health.

Following the dedication, Toe and other officials toured the facility and inspected its various sections.

The Maryland County administration expressed appreciation to MOPP, CRC, Renewal Construction Company, the Ministry of Health and other partners for their contributions to improving healthcare delivery in the county.

Meanwhile, MOPP management thanked residents of Wlowein for their cooperation and pledged to continue working with communities and local authorities to support development initiatives in Maryland County.

The new facility is expected to reduce difficulties faced by residents in accessing basic healthcare services, particularly those who previously had to travel longer distances for treatment.

County authorities and community leaders hope the facility will contribute to improved healthcare delivery in Wlowein and neighboring communities.
