Monrovia – Mr. Ameer Kotecha has been appointed His Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Liberia, succeeding Mr. Neil Bradley, who will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment. Mr. Kotecha is scheduled to assume his new role in April 2025.

As Ambassador, Mr. Kotecha will represent His Majesty, the King, and the UK government in Liberia. In this capacity, he will oversee the operations of the embassy and its consulates, managing responsibilities that include political affairs, trade and investment, press and cultural relations, and consular services.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Kotecha served as His Majesty’s Consul General in Ekaterinburg, a position he took up in June 2023. He began his career in the private sector before joining the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) in 2015. His diplomatic career has seen him serve in key roles in London and on international assignments in Hong Kong and New York. Mr. Kotecha holds a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford.
In addition to his distinguished career in diplomacy, Mr. Kotecha is the author of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s official Platinum Jubilee Cookbook.
