DUOPLAY TOWN, Nimba County, August 27, 2026 — Some residents of Nimba County Electoral District 3 have disputed the 2025 constituency report presented by Rep. Nerkeh E. Gaye, saying several claims in the report do not reflect conditions in their communities.
Gaye presented the report Sunday at a gathering in Duoplay Town, where he listed education, health, infrastructure, transparency and other areas as part of his legislative and constituency work.
The report drew criticism from several constituents, particularly young people who attended the event and questioned whether the projects and achievements cited by the lawmaker could be verified.
Residents said constituency reports should include specific information on projects, including locations, costs, funding sources and beneficiary communities.
One youth at the gathering said the report did not match what residents experience across the district. Other participants urged the lawmaker to provide evidence to support the claims in future reports.
Some residents also called for more frequent engagement between the lawmaker and constituents on development projects, legislative initiatives and the use of public resources.
The disagreement has generated discussion in Electoral District 3, with some constituents calling for independent verification of the projects and achievements cited in the report.
Gaye’s office has not yet publicly responded to the criticisms raised during the Duoplay Town gathering.
