The Massaquoi, Reeves, Kuyateh and Diggs families regret to announce the peaceful Homegoing of our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Friend and Minister of the Gospel on Saturday, July 05, 2025, in New Jersey, USA.
He attended the Seventh Day Adventist Primary School, Camp Johnson Road, and Konola Academy, Kakata, Margibi County. Upon graduation, he joined the Executive Mansion (SSS) under the late President William V. S. Tubman.
The late Minister Edward P. Massaquoi, affectionately known as “Boy Edward,” was a seasoned Security Expert, trained at the MASADA Academy in Isreal, whose dedication and leadership qualities impacted Liberia’s National Security Sector.
He embodied a profound sense of national duty, integrity, and demonstrated exceptional leadership as the Chief of the Special Security Service (SSS) during the Presidency of the late President, William R. Tolbert Jr., where he was entrusted with the protection of the Presidency and the Security of VIP’s and VVIP’s, Liberia.
During President Samuel K Doe’s administration, he was appointed as the Chairman of the Joint Security of Liberia, where he coordinated all national security institutions during a significant period of internal change. Beyond his professional life, he was a devout Christian who dedicated his later years to the service of God, faithfully answering to his pastoral calling and was ordained a Minister of the Gospel in September 2005.
Minister Edward P. Massaquoi was a beloved member of his church’s community and had a profound effect on the family of Grace Christian Fellowship Ministries during his over 25 years of service. The family of GRACE (GCFM) will miss him deeply but holding onto faith that we shall all meet again.
Though he has left this earth, his memories will live on in us. His energy, smile, free spirit, hugs, and words of wisdom will always be cherished.
His legacy of discipline, integrity and Spiritual guidance will continue to inspire all who knew and worked with him. He was a firm believer in safeguarding incompetence of Christians who are weak, knowing that we are only save by the Grace of God.
He leaves to cherish his memories a host of loved ones including his wife, Ella Reeves Massaquoi, his children; Prophetess Anita Kuyateh, Francois Massaquoi, (Kamilah) Danielette W. Massaquoi, Bishop E. Kuyateh, Sr., his sisters; Yuku Massaquoi, Kona Massaquoi, several grand children, great grand children, nieces, nephews, cousins, a host of other relatives and friends. He was pre-deceased by his parents: father, Momolu P. Massaquoi, mother, Mary Massaquoi (aka “Ma Mary, Ma”), his brother Francois Massaquoi, and his daughter Christine Massaquoi who predeceased him.
