Power Supply Finally Restored at RIA | News

The Liberia Airport Authority (LAA) wishes to inform the public that the power supply at Roberts International Airport (RIA) has been fully restored, and airport operations have returned to normal. The temporary disruption, which occurred on the evening of Sunday, March 30, at approximately 5:00 PM, was due to an electrical issue stemming from the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) power grid. The issue caused a brief power outage that affected terminal activities for a few hours.

Upon identifying the situation, the LAA, in collaboration with the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) and Cat Liberia, responded immediately to assess and address the cause of the power disruption. We are pleased to report that the situation has been promptly resolved, and RIA is now receiving a stable and reliable power supply, ensuring that all airport functions continue without further interruption.

The LAA deeply regrets any inconvenience caused by the temporary disruption and sincerely apologizes for any challenges faced by passengers, staff, and other stakeholders. We appreciate your understanding and patience during this brief period.

Additionally, the Liberia Airport Authority would like to clarify that recent reports linking the power disruption at RIA to an alleged fuel shortage are entirely false and misleading. These claims are unfounded and should be disregarded as mere propaganda. The LAA urges the public to rely on verified sources for accurate and official information.

Special Notice for Brussels Airline Passengers:

Meanwhile, the LAA informs all passengers who arrived via Brussels Airlines on Sunday, March 30, 2025, to kindly be at Roberts International Airport on Monday, March 31, 2025, at 8:00 AM to receive their luggage. We appreciate your cooperation.

The Liberia Airport Authority remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of service and ensuring the continued reliability of airport operations.
