President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has officially nominated former Grand Gedeh County Superintendent Peter L. Solo as the new Director General of the National Lottery Authority.
Mr. Solo, a partisan of the Unity Party, served as Superintendent of Grand Gedeh County from 2012 until he was succeeded in February 2018 by Kai G. Farley, who continues to serve in that position.
In 2017, former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf honored Mr. Peter Solo with the title of Grand Knight Commander of the Humane Order of African Redemption, recognizing him as one of the most outstanding local government officials during her administration.
However, On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. made additional nominations and appointments across various government institutions, including the Liberia Telecommunications Authority, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Lottery Authority, and the Liberia Electricity Corporation.
Among those nominated and appointed are, Mr. Peter L. Solo Director General, National Lottery Authority, Cora N. Hare Konuwa Deputy Minister of Justice for Administration, Ministry of Justice, Patrick R. Honnah, Angela Cassell Bush, Ben Fofana Commissioners proper of the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA).
Additionally, Mr. Richmond Fleming, II was appointed as Commissioner, Schieffelin Township, Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Ciapha S.M. Gbollie, Jr. Member, Board of Directors, Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC)
According to an Executive Mansion release, the President expressed confidence in the qualifications, integrity, and experience of the nominees and emphasized the importance of their timely confirmation to support ongoing reform and development efforts across the country.
The statement further noted that the President calls on all appointed officials to continue to demonstrate diligence, commitment, integrity, professionalism, and loyalty in service to the nation.
