Margibi, Liberia, April 3, 2025 – In what seems like a surprise among many Liberians, some pastors of the Christian Community in Margibi County joined Muslims to celebrate Ramadan recently in Margibi County.

Ramadan is climax of a month-long fast and prayers by Muslims in the country.

The program was held at the Nancy B. Doe Sports Pitch in Kakaka on Sunday, March 30, 2025, during morning hours with Muslims from many different places in Liberia in attendance.

There were also businesspeople from Kakaka, the Margibi Police Commander, Patrick B. Kormazu and some members of his team in attendance.

One of the pastors, who attended the program was Rev. Johnson M. D. Sumo, Bishop Philip E Nelson, III, of the United Churches of the World and few other pastors. They were called out by a Muslim Cleric and given special recognition, as Muslims expressed delight.

Many of the Muslims were very delightful and spoke that the step taken by Christians to now see Muslims as essential part of the religious community is very productive for the county.

They also said it shows love and peace. The program went on with the police and some businesspeople being certificated for their services to the Islamic Community in Margibi. Editing by Jonathan Browne
