Monrovia, Liberia, March 18 — Liberian clergyman, Reverend John D. Monger of the Ministry of Truth Judah Assembly, has praised the government of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai for what he described as steady economic transformation across the country.
In an exclusive interview, Rev. Monger said that despite prevailing global and domestic challenges, the government has made notable progress in public sector reform and economic management, resulting in improved service delivery nationwide.
He pointed out that there has been a visible improvement in Liberians’ livelihoods, with ongoing efforts to restore dignity to the civil service and strengthen citizens’ purchasing power.
“The things that are happening around are evidence. If we are to give a score, we could say 90. I think they are in the ‘A’ category because a lot of good things are happening,” Rev. Monger said.
“When you travel across Liberia, you see construction activities in many areas, which shows that things are getting better.”
Rev. Monger described the government’s decision to place hundreds of volunteer teachers and health workers on the national payroll as a significant step forward.
He noted that transitioning them into full-time civil servants boosts confidence and provides economic stability.
“When people have assurance of income, their spending power increases, and they can make better decisions. This leads to broader economic growth,” he added.
The clergyman also commended improvements in infrastructure and public services, which he believes are strengthening citizens’ confidence in the government.
Meanwhile, Rev. Monger called on the Church to build stronger collaboration with the government while continuing to provide moral guidance on national issues.
He urged church leaders to pray for the nation and promote responsible governance.
According to him, enhanced cooperation between the Church and the State will foster national unity and accelerate development.
He further encouraged religious leaders to remain steadfast in speaking the truth, stressing that they should not be discouraged by criticism in upholding accountability and righteousness.
