Sethi Ferro Acknowledges Blast at Oxygen Plant | News

The management of Sethi Ferro Fabrik has acknowledged the death of an employee who died as a result of an industrial incident at its Gardnerville facility.

The employee, Saah Samukai, died as a result of a blast from an oxygen cylinder. Samukai, who worked at the company’s oxygen plant, was unfortunately caught in the crossfire when the incident happened, the company says.

“Our thoughts and sincere condolences go out to the family, friends, and colleagues affected by this tragic loss. We have begun immediate engagement with the family of Saah Samukai and are doing everything we can to support them during this difficult period,” says Sethi Ferro Fabrik. “Our thoughts and prayers remain with the bereaved family as we all go through this difficult time.”

According to Sethi Ferro management, contrary to reports suggesting two fatalities and multiple injuries, only one death occurred, and no other injuries were sustained.

The company noted that immediate action was taken following the incident and that they are fully cooperating with the local authorities’ investigation.

At Sethi Ferro Fabrik, the company says employee safety is a top priority, and investments have been made over the years to enhance safety measures.

“Our employees are the heart of our operations, and their safety is our continuous top priority as we work alongside the authorities to understand and address this tragedy. While we work to uphold safety at the highest industry standards, we recognize that no system is infallible, and we take this incident with the utmost seriousness.”

As the government conducts its investigation, Sethi Ferro says it is fully cooperating to ensure a transparent and thorough process and remains committed to learning from this incident and reinforcing its safety protocols where necessary.

“We appreciate the community’s support during this challenging time and will provide further updates as more information becomes available,” Sethi Ferro management noted. “This loss is deeply painful for all of us. We will do everything in our power to support the family of Mr. Samukai.”
