MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The Sarpo Apoleabo Development Organization of Sinoe County on Tuesday, February 11, held elections at the CDB King School campus on Camp Johnson Road, Monrovia, to elect a new leadership for the next three years.
The election, conducted in a peaceful and transparent manner, saw Team Wylie claim victory in all contested positions, including President, Vice President, Financial Secretary, Secretary, and Treasurer. The process brought together citizens from six sections—Wedjah, Seekon, Numopoh, Juarzon, Putu, and Carbade—each represented by 20 voters residing in both Monrovia and Sinoe County.
The election featured two main teams: Team Diah, led by presidential candidate John T. Diah and vice-presidential candidate Hamilton W. Slojue, and Team Wylie, which fielded Quiah S. Wylie for President and Godfrey A. Tarpeh for Vice President. Following a competitive race, election chairperson Gabriel Pyne Vanjah declared Team Quiah victorious across all leadership positions.
Speaking to journalists after the polls, Mr. Vanjah commended the process, emphasizing its peaceful and transparent nature. “Today, we have had the special election, and my impression is that everything has been peaceful. The poll workers and observers were all present to witness a fair process,” he stated.
He encouraged both winners and losers to remain engaged in the organization’s activities, noting that leadership is built on service and cooperation. “I appreciate the Sarpo people for entrusting me with this responsibility, and I will always be available when called upon,” he added.
Meanwhile, President-elect Quiah S. Wylie and his team when inducted will take charge of the Sarpo Apoleabo Development Organization, steering its affairs for the next three years.
