Two Lnp Officers Disrobed And Suspended For Looting During Cdc Eviction

MONROVIA – The Liberia National Police (LNP) has announced the immediate disrobement and interdiction of two officers who were caught on video allegedly looting during the court-ordered eviction at the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) headquarters in Congo Town on Saturday, August 23, 2025.

According to a statement issued by the police, the two officers were identified on camera during the operation and have since been turned over to the Professional Standards Division of the LNP for further investigation. The force emphasized that their actions amounted to alleged unethical conduct, prompting swift disciplinary measures.

“The officers in question have been disrobed and placed under immediate interdiction. They have been forwarded to the Professional Standards Department for investigation,” the police statement said.

The LNP further assured the public that the investigation would be thorough and impartial. Authorities also pledged that the findings of the probe would be made public upon completion as part of the institution’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

Saturday’s eviction, carried out on the orders of the court, has already stirred significant public attention, with videos of the alleged looting circulating widely on social media. The disrobement of the officers is being viewed as a test of the police leadership’s resolve to maintain discipline and restore public trust in the force.

The police leadership has not disclosed the identities of the officers but confirmed that they remain suspended from all duties pending the outcome of the investigation.
