WAE Refutes Claims of Selling Contaminated Products in Ganta | News

West Africa Enterprise has strongly rejected social media reports alleging that the company is linked to the sale of contaminated products in Ganta, Nimba County, calling the claims “misinformation” and distancing itself from the outlet at the center of the controversy.

Reports circulated over the weekend that inspectors from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry discovered rotten and unwholesome goods at Branch #26 in Ganta, operated by businessman Samir Awada.

The inspection, led by Inspector General Meator Gbatu, took place Saturday, September 6, drawing swift public concern over food safety.

In a statement hours later, West Africa Enterprise emphasized that Branch #26 is not owned or managed by the company, but rather independently run under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that allows Mr. Awada to operate as an agent.

“We categorically reject any act of defamation against our entity and wish to clarify recent misinformation,” the management said. “Branch #26 in Ganta does not represent West Africa Enterprise.”

The company further noted that its brand is built on delivering “the finest quality frozen products” in Liberia and that it maintains strict standards for freshness and safety across its authorized outlets.

According to the release, the Ganta agent has not sourced products from West Africa Enterprise in more than a month and instead allegedly stocked damaged goods from outside the company’s supply chain.

“Such actions are contrary to the values and quality we stand for,” the statement added.

The company stressed that agents under the MoU may only purchase products that meet West Africa Enterprise’s strict standards, making the sale of spoiled goods a clear violation of its agreement.

West Africa Enterprise assured customers nationwide that its genuine outlets remain committed to supplying safe, high-quality frozen products.

“A visit to any of our genuine outlets will confirm our uncompromising standards and pristine product quality,” the company stated.

West Africa Enterprise is one of Liberia’s leading distributors of frozen food products, with outlets across the country. The company says it continues to monitor its agents and supply chain to safeguard consumer trust amid increasing scrutiny of food safety standards in Liberia.
