According to reports from Africafoot, negotiations are ongoing between the Saudi club, Dorley’s representatives, and his current employers as Al Taawoun seek to bolster their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The Saudi outfit is understood to view the 27-year-old Liberian as an experienced and versatile addition capable of strengthening multiple areas of the team.
Dorley’s ability to operate as a central midfielder, defensive midfielder, left-back, and wing-back has made him one of Liberia’s most valuable football exports in recent years, presenting an attractive option for clubs seeking tactical flexibility and leadership.
The midfielder has enjoyed an impressive spell with Czech giants SK Slavia Prague, where he has established himself as a key member of the squad both domestically and in European competitions.
Since arriving in Prague, Dorley has won multiple league titles and domestic honors while regularly featuring in UEFA competitions, including the Champions League and Europa League.
His performances at the club level have translated onto the international stage, where he remains one of the most influential players and captain for Liberia’s national team, Lone Star.
For Al Taawoun, the pursuit of Dorley reflects the club’s ambition to strengthen its roster with experienced international talent as the Saudi Pro League continues to attract players from some of Europe’s leading leagues.
The Saudi top flight has witnessed significant growth in recent seasons, with clubs investing heavily in both established stars and emerging talents to raise the league’s global profile and competitiveness.
While discussions are said to be progressing, neither Al Taawoun nor Slavia Prague have officially confirmed the negotiations.
Should the move materialize, Dorley would join the growing list of African players moving to the Gulf state and become one of Liberia’s highest-profile footballers currently playing in the Middle East.
