Monrovia, Liberia, July 9, 2026: The Liberia Special Economic Zones Authority, or LSEZA, has signed a construction contract with Liberian-owned Ducheck General Construction Service for the development of the Liberia Packaging Solutions Center.
The signing marks another step in the Authority’s effort to strengthen local manufacturing, improve value addition and increase private sector competitiveness.
The Packaging Solutions Center is being funded under the Public Sector Investment Project.
When completed, it is expected to provide modern product filling, labeling and packaging services to Liberian businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises.
Officials say the facility is intended to help address one of the country’s longstanding challenges by providing affordable and quality packaging solutions that meet local and international market standards.
LSEZA says the center will improve product presentation and help locally made goods compete in Liberia and across regional and international markets.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, LSEZA Executive Chairman Prince Wreh described the agreement as a major milestone in the Authority’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for Liberian businesses.
Chairman Wreh also acknowledged Finance Minister Augustine K. Ngafuan for helping make the process possible.
He said the project supports the Government of Liberia’s broader agenda to promote industrialization, support local businesses, create jobs and strengthen value chains through strategic infrastructure investment.
Speaking on behalf of Ducheck General Construction Service, General Manager Alexander Freeman thanked LSEZA for what he called a transparent and competitive procurement process that enabled a Liberian-owned company to secure the contract.
Freeman said the company is committed to delivering the project on time and in keeping with quality standards.
Following the signing, Ducheck is expected to mobilize to the project site, begin site clearing and start construction activities.
