Nadim El Hage, Chairman of AIM4D International Ltd, has strongly denied allegations circulating on social media linking him to a recent drug trafficking case in Liberia, describing the claims as “false, misleading, and potentially defamatory.”
In a public statement issued amid growing online speculation following the arrest of two foreign nationals in connection with a suspected multi-million-dollar cocaine seizure, El Hage rejected any suggestion that he is connected to the ongoing criminal investigation.
“I, Nadim El Hage, Chairman of AIM4D International Ltd, categorically reject and condemn the false and misleading attempts circulating on social media to associate me with recent allegations relating to a reported drug arrest in Liberia,” he stated.
The clarification follows the circulation of a photograph on social media showing El Hage alongside former President George Manneh Weah and senior members of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), which some online users have sought to link to the recent narcotics investigation.
El Hage explained that the photograph was taken during a routine inspection of one of the company’s project sites and bears no relationship to any criminal matter.
“The photograph being circulated was taken during a routine visit to inspect the progress of a project site. I attended in my professional capacity as Chairman of AIM4D International Ltd, together with former President George Weah, CDC leadership, and members of the party,” he said.
“The photograph simply records my presence during that site visit and has absolutely no connection to any criminal investigation or to the individual referred to in the social media publication.”
He emphasized that AIM4D International Ltd is a legally registered company operating in Liberia and conducts its business in compliance with the country’s laws.
According to him, the company fulfills all of its legal and financial obligations, including paying taxes to the Liberian government.
“AIM4D International Ltd is a duly registered company in the Republic of Liberia and conducts its activities in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations. The company is an active taxpayer and meets its tax obligations to the relevant Liberian authorities,” El Hage said.
He criticized those circulating the photograph, arguing that using images from public or professional events to create criminal associations is both irresponsible and damaging.
“It is irresponsible, misleading, and potentially defamatory to misuse photographs taken during public or professional activities in order to create a false narrative and damage the reputation of an innocent person or a legitimate business,” he stated.
El Hage further highlighted his professional background, saying he has built his career in architecture, engineering, construction, project development, and investment across Africa while maintaining respect for the laws of every country where his company operates.
“Throughout my professional career, I have remained committed to architecture, engineering, project development, construction, and investment across Africa, with integrity, professionalism, and respect for the laws of every country in which AIM4D International Ltd operates,” he said.
The AIM4D Chairman also appealed to journalists, social media users, and administrators to verify information before sharing it online.
“I call upon media organizations, social media administrators, users, and members of the public to verify information before publishing or sharing unsubstantiated claims. I also request that the misleading publication and any related false statements be removed immediately,” he said.
El Hage warned that he is prepared to pursue legal remedies against individuals or organizations that continue to publish or circulate what he described as false and defamatory information.
“I reserve all legal rights against any individual, page, media platform, or organization that knowingly publishes, republishes, or continues to disseminate false and defamatory statements intended to harm my personal reputation or the standing of AIM4D International Ltd,” he declared.
He concluded by thanking those who, according to him, took time to verify the facts before sharing the allegations.
“I sincerely thank all those who have taken the time to verify the facts before drawing conclusions or sharing the publication,” El Hage said.
The statement comes as Liberian security agencies continue investigations into the recent seizure of a suspected cocaine cache in the VOA community along the Roberts International Airport Highway. Authorities have not publicly identified El Hage as a suspect or person of interest in the ongoing investigation, and no official charges have been brought against him in connection with the case.
