ARISE MINISTRIES, a  Virginia United States of America-based  religious group, has donated assorted medical supplies worth over US$50,000.00 to the James Jenkins Dossen Memorial referral hospital in Maryland County. The donation, made recently, also includes sanitary pads for bedridden patients, both women and children, in the maternity ward .

Speaking in an interview with this reporter, Evangelist Albertine Tubman said she was on an outreach mission in Maryland in order to give back to her community.

“Being in the medical field, I know what it takes to get medical care in these areas. It breaks my heart when I hear that people died from certain diseases or sicknesses, especially some of those diseases and sicknesses that can be easily managed,” she said.

Albertine is a passionate healthcare provider, and being very passionate about helping people, she decided to pursue her career in the healthcare industry. She said she became a Certified Nurse Assistant in 2004, obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and her Master in Public Health Management.

According to her she surrenders her career at the feet of Jesus Christ, and described herself as a “Nurse for Jesus”

She indicated that there is a need for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Infection Control Trainings for healthcare providers at the level of the county health team and people from across the various departments in the six health districts in the county.

The ARISE MINISTRIES boss reaffirmed her commitment to supporting and facilitating the training and all of the necessary materials and equipment needed for the training and the practical session. According to her the CPR and infection training is very important to be conducted across the county facilities to refresh the minds of care providers and the community as a whole.

The humanitarian religious organization provided non pharmaceutical medical supplies to the hospital through the county health team and the facility administrators worth over five thousand United States dollars.

She said teaching the cardiopulmonary resuscitation to the nurses or teaching it to somebody from the community to save lives who just drop down is very cardinal, narrating that without that knowledge you cannot save anyone life who might be suffering from cardiac attack or arrest.

She disclosed that both the County Health Team and the JJ Dossen Hospital administrators have agreed for the training to be conducted in the near future when she is ready.

She said all of the materials needed for the training is not about teaching nurses how to use them but to enable them to practice.

Dr. Bill Davis, JJ Dossen Medical Director, lauded Tubman and her ARISE MINISTRIES  and described the donation as timely, and welcoming.

Davis said it is good for people to always remember their roots to give back or provide their services. He noted it has taken a very long period of time now for such a huge donation to be provided by individuals, especially materials for bedridden patients.

Also addressing the press former JJ Dossen hospital administrator and former Maryland County Health Officer now Harvard University student Dr. Methodius George thanked the Chief Executive Officer of the ARISE MINISTRIES for the donation made to the people of Maryland county and Liberia.

Dr. George described the materials as meaningful, timely, and belief that the items will be used for the actual purse. Meanwhile it can be recalled that the Arise Ministries had a successful trip in Maryland County, in March of 2022. Arise Ministries visited the JJ Dossen Hospital and Pleebo Health Center in 2022, and new clothing items for newborn babies and expecting mothers (pregnant women) including blankets, hats, socks, and many items amongst others.
