MFDP Resumes Regular Operations Following Wednesday’s Fire Incident

MONROVIA, Oct. 25 (LINA) – The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) has resumed regular operations following a fire incident Wednesday morning at one of the offices on the third floor of the Ministry.

The fire, according to a statement from the Ministry, was extinguished through the support of the Liberia National Fire Service and workers of the Ministry of Finance, adding that there were no loss of lives or injury.

The Ministry stated that financial records of the Central Government were not affected by the fire as well.

“The Liberia National Fire Service has collected relevant information and is investigating the cause of the fire. The outcome of the Fire Service investigation and report will be made public, including the extent of the damages to the section of the third floor,” the MFDP said.

The Ministry also commended the Liberia National Fire Service and its staff for the gallantry in extinguishing the fire and saving a critical national asset.
