‘Booked In The Act’ …Patrol Officers Caught Taking Bribes

by

The Inspector General of Police Col Gregory O. W. Coleman while en route to Ganta, Nimba County on Friday, January 17, 2025, came across a startling situation where some highway patrol officers were seen collecting exploiting drivers and taking bribes.

According to him, these are some key issues in the police that need to be tackled to keep the standards high as such behavior is not only a breach of law but a violation of the core values upheld by the LNP.

“What truly counts is our strong commitment to serve with honesty and integrity,” he said.   Meanwhile, the officers have been turned over to the Professional Standards Division for further disciplinary actions.

The incident has raised public outcry over the ongoing issues within the highway patrols, prompting an immediate investigation into the involved officers.  The Inspector General of Police has reassured the public that the department is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

He said that his office remains committed to restoring public trust and ensuring every officer serves with integrity, professionalism, and respect for the rule of law.

The IG said as the investigation continues, the Professional Standards Division will work diligently to assess the officers’ conduct and determine the appropriate disciplinary measures.
