MONROVIA – Former President George Weah, the political leader of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), has extended heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the Chairman, Secretary General, and the entire Executive Committee of the CDC for their efforts in planning and organizing the Militant Day program. This event, held on Friday, June 28, 2024, aimed to celebrate the dedication and steadfastness of the party’s supporters over the years.

In his statement of appreciation and solidarity, Weah expressed his gratitude to all CDC members, supporters, and members of opposition political parties who participated in the celebration despite the adverse weather conditions. He specifically thanked the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Chair of the legislative Caucus of the CDC, along with many partisans and supporters who gathered in large numbers, showing their loyalty and commitment to the party.

Weah emphasized the significance of the CDC as a “way of life” and a “bastion of hope” for thousands of Liberians who believe in the party’s grassroots agenda. He acknowledged the challenges faced but expressed confidence in the continued support and determination of CDC members to strive for a better Liberia. The former president highlighted that their dedication, even in the absence of party leaders from the country and during inclement weather, demonstrates a strong commitment to the CDC’s mission and vision.

Weah also took the opportunity to thank other political party leaders for their presence at the Militant Day program, recognizing their show of opposition solidarity. He urged all who believe in a united and indivisible Liberia to continue collaborating in the interest of the people. In his message, he extended his appreciation to all Liberians who continue to work towards peace and prosperity in the country.

Reaffirming his commitment to the CDC and the country, Weah announced that he and other party leaders would soon return to Liberia, reinvigorated and rejuvenated, to continue their fight for a better nation. His statement concluded with a call for unity and continued collaboration among all political parties and citizens to achieve the common goal of a prosperous and peaceful Liberia.
