The leadership of the disable community in Grand Kru has underscore the need for the government through the Ministry of Education to adopt a sustainable policy to make access to education at public schools and Universities free of charge for them due to their condition.
According to them, despite of their physical appearances, they will not allow it to undermine the future they hold and stop them from positively contributing to the larger society through education.
The head of the county’s physically challenged community Emmanuel Joeploh said when their quest is welcome by the national government with support from the legislature it will go a long and create empowerment opportunities amongst those living with disabilities, especially so when they acquired both academy and vocational education respectively.
He lamented that being physically challenged is quite different from inability, stressing that the disable community is capable in making sound decision that positivity impacts the Liberian society.
Emmanuel Joploh added that, if the opportunity is provided by introducing free education for the disable community, it will be the option of people with disability to take advantage of it and advance themselves at the local and national levels.
The head of disable disclosed that, if disable community are empower and educated, it will provide an equal space for both disable and able brain storming and making quality decision that will suit the society.
Speaking further Joploh, added that many citizens that are physically challenged are with the mind-set of being educated, but lacks the financial means.
Emmanuel Joeploh is therefore encouraging his colleagues with said situation to keep being committed to their studies, while the leadership is exhorting efforts to address the constraints faced by them.
