Barclayville City, Jan 3,2024 – The county administration of Grand Kru, led by Superintendent Antoinette Worwele Nimely, has announced plans to rehabilitate hand pumps to provide affordable and accessible sources of safe drinking water for all communities and districts.
According to her, to facilitate this plan, all district and community leaders have been instructed to submit a list of damaged hand pumps that require repair work.
Due to damaged hand-pumps in some communities, many citizens have returned to using the creeks for water.
To address this issue, Superintendent Nimely emphasized that repairing the damaged pumps is essential. The Grand Kru leader stated that a bid will soon be announced to hire an expert construction company in accordance with government standards and the Public Procurement Law.
She made the assertion on Friday January 3, 2025, in Barclayville.
The county comprises eighteen administrative districts and over seventy-nine towns, with a population of nearly seventy-nine thousand one hundred and six.
At the same time, the superintendent assured citizens of the county that her administration is committed to addressing the safe drinking water needs in various communities, putting in necessary measures to ensure access to clean and safe drinking water for everyone in the county.
