With heavy hearts, we announce the homegoing of our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Murlyn Kumbah Jones.
Born on January 30, 1949, Murlyn went to be with her Lord on Monday, June 17, 2024. Murlyn was the loving mom of Ernestine Sienneh Jones, Sephlyn Yeale Jones-Jallah (Samolu), Ernest Sumowoi Jones Jr., and Precious S. Zubah (Michael). She was a devoted sister to Ewan Paymah, Weedor Paymah Jarbo, Nidmee Nukar, David Queneh, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support will always be treasured by her grandchildren Mackenzie Elliott (Ravyne), Shanice Cooper-Previll (Thomas), Ernest (EJ) Jones III, Ewan Saah Jones, Ernestine Erica Jones, Ernie Jones, and Brianna Jones, and her greatgrandchildren Mackenzie Elliott III and Zairah Elliott. Murlyn’s caring spirit extended to others outside of her family, where she was a grandmother to many. Predeceased by her beloved mother, Yeale Kandakai, her father, Marwolo Peter Paymah, and her husband, Ernest Sumowoi Jones Sr., Murlyn was a pillar of strength and inspiration. Her successful career as a businesswoman was a testament to her hard work and determination, making a lasting impact on her family. Murlyn’s radiant presence and compassionate soul will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory is forever etched in our hearts and minds. May her soul rest in peace until we see her again.
