LEC Announces Temporary Power Outage At Mount Coffee Hydro Plant

MONROVIA, Nov. 4 (LINA) – The management of the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) has disclosed that some of its power distribution feeders have been temporarily switched off, due to technical issues at the Mt. Coffee Hydropower Plant.

The LEC has also informed the public and its valuable customers that these issues are currently being resolved by its team of engineers with the support of the Original Equipment Manufacturer.

In a release issued Friday, the LEC disclosed that in the interim, the entity will continue to provide service using capacity from the CLSG and its Bushrod Thermal Plants.

It added that as the current energy supply is insufficient to meet the present load demand, feeders will have to be switched off alternately during this period pending the resumption of full service at the Mt. Coffee Hydro Power Plant (MCHPP).

The management said it regrets any inconvenience this temporal outage may cause and calls on its customers to conserve their energy consumption to optimize its service to the public.
