Monrovia, Liberia – Following a series of reviews and national validation of the ARREST Agenda by the Liberian government through the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, with support from development partners, President Joseph Nyuma, Boakai, Sr. will officially launch the ARREST AGENDA for Inclusive Development.
The launch of the inclusive Development Agenda, according to Minister of Finance and Development Planning Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan, will take place in Buchanan Grand Bassa County. Calling on all Liberians to support the initiative, Minister Ngafuan said, “Let’s Unite around Development.”
Minister Ngafuan stated that the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development is the Unity Party government’s five-year medium-term national development strategy that strives to increase, generate jobs, and lift Liberians out of poverty while also reducing the massive inequality and disparity gap.
During a press conference at the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs, and Tourism on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, Minister Ngafuan revealed that the Development Plan, which will be launched by Liberian President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, contains a total of 8.4 billion US dollars.
He stated that the launch of the Development Agenda will bring together Development Partners, Civil Society Organizations, the Private Sector, the Legislature, the Judiciary, Ministries, Agencies, and Commissions of Government, County Superintendents, Chiefs, and Elders from the country’s 15 sub-political divisions.
The AAID is set to Promoting a more peaceful and cohesive society that allows for economic change and long-term growth; and an inclusive and responsible public sector for shared prosperity and sustainable development. A stable macroeconomic climate promotes private sector growth, competitiveness, and diversification, while eliminating government waste.
