Amb. Dowana, a graduate of the University of Liberia alongside Dr. Wulu in 1981, described him as a distinguished gentleman whose contributions to academia, public service, and community development span Liberia and the United States. Dowana recounted personal encounters with Dr. Wulu’s family and professional achievements, emphasizing his role as an educator, researcher, and leader.
A Trailblazer in Education and Public Service
Dr. Wulu’s illustrious career includes roles at institutions such as the University of Liberia, Monrovia College and Industrial Training Institute, and U.S.-based organizations like the Department of Health and Human Services and the University of Maryland Global Campus. His leadership of the John and Minnie Wulu School System in Liberia, which serves over 500 students, exemplifies his commitment to education.
In academia, Dr. Wulu has published extensively in reputable journals and delivered numerous presentations at international conferences. His expertise and passion for higher education make him a strong contender for the UL presidency, according to Ambassador Dowana.
Vision for the University of Liberia
Dr. Wulu has outlined a bold vision for the University of Liberia, focusing on enhancing residential facilities, state-of-the-art classrooms, and safety across all campuses.
