Liberia: AMEU Donates Traffic Equipment to Duala Police Detachment

The AMEU President then called on well-meaning Liberians to join efforts to assist the Liberia National Police to professionally discharge their duties.

MONROVIA — The Administration of the African Methodist Episcopal University on Camp Johnson has presented several traffic equipment to the Liberia National Police, Duala Detachment on the Bushroad Island.

The President of AMEU, Dr. Alvin Attah presenting the materials, said the university is concerned about the difficulties officers of the LNP undergo on a  daily basis in the traffic, mainly on the Bushrod Island areas.

Dr. Attah said AMEU is of the conviction that the equipment being donated will make positive impacts as well as assist with smooth operation of officers of the Liberia National Police in Duala.

The AMEU President then called on well-meaning Liberians to join efforts to assist the Liberia National Police to professionally discharge their duties as well as protect lives and properties.

“This must seem little but it will help our officers to do their work effectively, we are glad to be a help to members of the Liberia National Police for their effort in the traffic control in this Duala area, we all know how challenging this is but they are always here helping in the process,” Dr. Attah noted.

He said in the future, the AMEU will work to render similar assistance to officers in other parts of the country to ensure that officers in the traffic are assisted fully. “We don’t have to look up to government to help, we’ll meaning Liberians can do the same by helping and extending hands to the police in their discharge of their duties,” he said.



Receiving the items on behalf of the Police, Deputy Police Inspector General for Operation, Nelson Freeman, thanked the President of the AME University and the entire administration for the donation, promising to use the donated materials for the purpose intended.

“We are grateful for the donation and we appreciate you for what you have done today, this will help the police in this area to ease their work, we pray that this continue by other well-meaning Liberians and groups, we are grateful and these items will be use for its intended purpose,” he said.
