Monrovia – The Liberia Council of Churches (LCC), under the leadership of its President, Rev. Dr. Samuel Broomfield Reeves, Jr., has called on Liberians to embrace the New Year with a spirit of hope, renewal, and unity.
In a heartfelt New Year’s message shared across the Council’s social media platforms, Rev. Reeves reflected on the timeless message of God’s boundless love and redemption through the birth of Jesus Christ. He urged Liberians to not only celebrate the season but to use it as an opportunity for reflection and purposeful action.
“As we navigate this new year, let us embrace the spirit of renewal and hope that it brings,” Rev. Reeves stated. “The birth of our Savior is a reminder of God’s humility, love, and the promise of redemption and reconciliation. It is a call to reflect and act with purpose as we move forward.”
Addressing the challenges faced by both the Church and the nation, Rev. Reeves emphasized the need for Christians to be a “shining light” and a “beacon of hope, healing, and transformation.” He posed reflective questions to guide believers in their faith journey, asking, “Are we living out Christ’s mission of peace, justice, and reconciliation? Are we united in service, addressing the needs of the poor, the oppressed, and the brokenhearted?”
Rev. Reeves called for a renewed commitment to the core Christian values of compassion, unity, and integrity. He encouraged Liberians to act as the hands and feet of Christ, serving others and creating a future where God’s love and light shine through collective actions.
“Together, we can bring God’s love to life in powerful ways, creating a future where His light shines through our actions,” he added.
The LCC’s message concluded with prayers for peace, courage, and unwavering faith as the nation works towards transformation and reconciliation.
The Liberia Council of Churches, a leading faith-based organization in Liberia, continues to play a vital role in addressing social, political, and economic issues through the lens of Christian teachings. As Liberians step into 2025, the Council’s message of hope resonates with its mission of fostering peace and national unity.
