Monrovia- Ghanaian striker, Jordan Ayew, has put smiles on the faces of orphans in Liberia, as they celebrate the new year.

The Leicester City forward demonstrated his commitment in giving back to the community through a generous donation to “The Rock of Devine Children’s Orphanage” located in Paynesville community, Liberia.
Team Ayew Liberia on January 1, 2025 presented items worth $,3,500, including mattresses, assorted food items, 20 bags of rice,cooking oil,bag of sugar, milk, toiletries, drinking water,laundry soap,cereals,and other essential items to the orphans as his way of celebrating the new year with those in need.
Marking the donation, the head of Team Ayew Liberia, Clarence Lee Chea, said Jordan Ayew is a very passionate person who has been helping those in need, something he attributed to be with in the family of Ayews.
“I am overwhelmed with joy to see in this kind of difficult time you still feeding the children so we want to say on behalf of Jordan thank you and keep it up,”
“We brought you these few things so you can be able to celebrate the new year just like how others are celebrating, but I can assure you that this will not be our last time coming here to identify with the kids,” Mr. Chea said.
According to him, plans to renovate the school building of Rock of Devine Children’s Orphanage.
“Team Ayew remains dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of those in need,” said Clarence Lee Chea.
He asserted that Ayew’s kindness resonates with his passion for supporting vulnerable communities, particularly children.
Jordan Ayew who is not a Liberian desire to be a help to Liberians is as the result of the many Liberian friends he had growing up and thought it wise to be a blessing to the people of Liberia.
Ayew’s philanthropic efforts serve as an inspiration, highlighting the importance of giving back to the community.
Receiving the donation, the founder of Rick of Devine Children’s Orphanage, Mother Fatu K. Smith, said the items came at the right time because they have been in need of food for the kids.
“We want to say to you thanks so much for this wonderful donation, it means a whole lot to us and we hope you will continue to support us in this challenging time,”
“ These mattresses came at the right time because many of the mattresses we have are not good but we have tried to manage with them, I thank God Jordan heart turn to Liberia and coming to Rock of Devine Children’s orphanage, because many of the kids here need help so I want to say thank you for thinking about us and what so ever you do God will be there with you,”
“As you away playing football may God protect you and give you more strength so you can be able to be a blessing to others,” mother Fatu Smith said in a joyous mood.
Team Ayew Liberia’s gesture started October of 2024 when they made their first donation at an orphanage home and has promised to continue in such direction.
