Monrovia – The Minister of Labor Cllr. Cooper Kruah has rejected claims of him employing more people from Nimba County, the county he hailed from.

Over the last year, there have been countless accusations against the Minister of Labor for employing his Kinsmen, especially those related to him.
Providing his 2024 year-in-review at the Ministry of Information Culture and Tourism Regular Press Briefing Thursday, the Labor Minister termed the accusations as mere politics.
“In politics when you are a minister or you accept a public position in government, you are exposed to all types of criticism. People who don’t fit in your shoes can tell you anything; people go on radio and just say anything,” Cllr. Kruah said.
The Minister of Labor told journalists that he, like many others, has been employed by President Boakai.
Cllr. Kruah added that he does not have the authority to tell President Boakai who to appoint and where to appoint them.
“When I’m employed as a Minister of Labor then the President employs Deputy Ministers, Assistant Ministers and what have you, then you say I’m responsible?” Minister Kruah asked.
He added: “The President has the prerogative to appoint whoever he wants to employ people, to appoint people in different ministries. When that is done you cannot say I’m the cause.”
According to the Labor Minister, since his ascendancy as Minister he has worked with individuals from other parts of the country.
“I have people, ministers, in my ministry that are from Lofa County, from Grand Bassa, they are not my employees, they are working with the government and they have the right to work in the government as well,” he explained.
The Minister of Labor added by saying: “So, the issue about nepotism is pure politics, it is not real.
