Monrovia – The LFA has completed a two-day training for 31 Beginners’ Match Commissioner at its HQ on 11 June as the president of the football house called on would-be commissioners to NOT be “politicians”.
The president was also emphatic that delinquent match commissioners will not be tolerated this term, and that would-be violators will be delisted from the system following series of absenteeism.
“We will be monitoring the Competition Management System (CMS), and if you failed to honor series of games you’ll be removed from the list as a Match Commissioner.
“We should also take into consideration as stated in our training that Match Commissioners are NOT politicians and if you want to be one, you should not be here because when you entered into the discipline and want to be a politician, you’ll be treated as one,” Raji stated clearly.

President Mustapha Raji was speaking at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Beginners’ match commissioner workshop following the training of 31 Match commissioners ahead of the 2024/25 league season.
In a brief statement, LFA Match commissioner coordinator Cllr. Izetta Wesley encouraged all 2024 participants to do their best in the football campaigns to come.
The president of the 2024 class, James Lynch Monbo was elated for the opportunity provided by the LFA, the commissioner coordinator, and the entire class for honoring the schedule as a way of trying to improve football.
“I like to thank the president of the LFA, Mr. Mustapha Raji for the opportunity… My profound gratitude to Cllr. Izetta Wesley for finally delivering on the training, and also big thanks to fellow professionals who embraced the occasion for the purpose of improving football through integrity,” Monbo stressed.
Another participant, Atty. Windor Darko Tarplah was grateful for the undertaking and congratulated Match Coordinator Cllr. Izetta Wesley for challenging females (she and 7 others) to emulate Cllr Wesley to be a good Match commissioner.
Second Vice President Adolphus Dolo, who himself was part of the class over the last two days, expressed felicitation to the LFA leadership for the training, and the team of lecturers inclusive of Cllr. Wesley, Andy Quamie, Joel freeman, and Alex Nagbo.
Meanwhile, all 31 participants will receive their certificate at the official closing of LONA 2024 league season on Sunday, 16 June.
