The convention, which seeks to ensure a “Genuine New MOVEE”, will run from Thursday, November 28 to Sunday, December 1, 2024.
Monrovia – Ahead of Liberia’s next presidential and general elections in 2029, the Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE) is expected to hold its third national convention to elect new corps of officers and take other actions to move the party forward.

The convention, which seeks to ensure a “Genuine New MOVEE”, will run from Thursday, November 28 to Sunday, December 1, 2024.
It will take place at the Rev. Dr Samuel B. Reeves, Jr. Graduation Hall at the Liberia Baptist Theological Seminary on the Robertsfield Highway in Paynesville, Montserrado County, outside Monrovia.
The convention will be held under the theme: Envisioning and Enhancing the Present and Future of the Movement for Economic Empowerment – (MOVEE).
In a statement issued in Monrovia under the signature of the convention Mrs. Angeline K. W. Gborie on Tuesday, November 12, the party disclosed that the convention will commence with the accreditation and validation of the required and invited delegates, followed by the formal opening Ceremony and Business Session on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at 9AM.
It pointed out that as part of its Calendar of Events for the Convention, delegates from across the 15 counties (with each County Chairman or Chairperson leading Delegates from each County) will arrive on November 27, 2024, while their accreditation and validation will be on November 28, 2024.
The statement disclosed that the opening of the MOVEE Third National Convention will entertain a report from the Adhoc Special Constitution Review Committee on the Revision of the Amended 2016 Bi-Laws and Constitution of the party.
National Executive Committee (NEC) members of MOVEE would be elected and inducted to fill vacant positions within the party, while the status of the party would be highlighted at the convention.
The statement maintained that a report from the Ad-hoc Special Resolution Committee would be pursued and subsequently endorsed.
“Day One of the Post October 2023 General and Presidential Elections Retreat for the National Executive Committee of MOVEE and All other Delegates from the 15 Counties of the Republic of Liberia attending the Third (3rd) Emergency National Convention of MOVEE in furtherance of the irreversible process of Genuine Peace, Reconciliation and Unity, aimed at Moving the Genuine New MOVEE Forward.”
The statement emphasized that the Third National Convention of MOVEE will also advance “Way Forward from the October 2023 Post General and Presidential Elections Retreat for the National Executive Committee of MOVEE and All other Delegates from the 15 Counties of the Republic of Liberia attending the Third (3rd) Emergency National Convention of MOVEE in furtherance of the irreversible process of Genuine Peace, Reconciliation and Unity, aimed at Moving the Genuine New MOVEE Forward.”
On December 1, 2024, a Thanksgiving Service would be held, while the MOVEE Ambassador Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr. Women Vocational Skills Training and Empowerment Program would also be launched at the party’s National Headquarters in Paynesville, outside Monrovia to be followed by the official closure of the convention.
The statement pointed out that on December 2, 2024, delegates of the Third Emergency National Convention of the “Great Orange Revolution – MOVEE” will depart to the fifteen (15) Counties of the Republic of Liberia.
“All Members of the National Executive Committee, Partisans, Well-wishers, Friends, Sympathizers, Stakeholders and the General Public are advised to take note that only the required invited and accredited distinguished delegates from the National Executive Committee and all the 15 Counties of the Republic of Liberia shall be allowed to enter the Liberia Baptist Theological Seminary and access its Rev. Dr. Samuel B. Reeves, Jr. Graduation Hall to participate in the Convention.”
The party disclosed that it appreciates and cherishes all of its Partisans, Well-wishers, Stakeholders, Friends and Sympathizers, but, as all other Political Parties everywhere in the world, everyone can not fit in the Convention Hall, no matter how large it is, and moreover, all partisans, well-wishers and stakeholders cannot be delegates to a Convention, no matter where it may be in the world.”
