…To Probe ‘Withdrawal’ Of Funds From Accounts
Liberia-With recent allegations over the US$15,000 bribery at the House of Representatives, the Ministry of Transport has called on the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) to conduct speedily investigate the situation.
In the interest of transparency and accountability, the Transport Ministry has officially invited the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) to conduct a thorough investigation into recent allegations surrounding the withdrawal of funds from the Ministry’s accounts.
In a statement issued in Monrovia yesterday, the ministry noted that these allegations suggest that cash withdrawals were made to influence decisions on Capitol Hill.
“The Ministry takes these claims seriously and is committed to cooperating fully with the LACC throughout the investigation process. We remain dedicated to upholding the highest standards of integrity and accountability in our operations and ensuring that all actions align with the laws and regulations of Liberia,” the statement added.
The ministry furthered, “We assure the public that we will provide updates as the investigation progresses and continue to work towards maintaining the trust of the Liberian people.”
