It can be recalled, the “majority bloc” of the House of Representative voted unanimously on November 19, 2024 to suspend Representatives J. Marvin Cole, Dixon Seeboe and Edward P. Flomo for acts deemed unbecoming of their roles as legislators.
They were suspended for “30 working sessions”, beginning December 2024 to March 2025.
Their suspensions stem from a series of disruptive actions during legislative sessions. On October 17, 2024, he allegedly locked the doors of the main chamber, preventing the body from conducting its legislative business. Later that day, Cole reportedly led a group of individuals into the Joint Chamber, causing a civil disturbance.
A month later, the “majority bloc” voted to suspend four additional lawmakers for 30 session days, citing “misconduct.”
The suspended representatives include Frank Saah Foko (District #9, Montserrado County), Eugene Kollie (District #3, Montserrado County), Zinnah Normah (District #3, Lofa County), and Alex Noah (District #3, Gbarpolu County).
FrontPageAfrica has in its possession bank statements in the tone of USD$32, 613.76, making up 70 percent of the seven lawmakers’ United States Dollars salaries, and 2,492, 297.18, covering thirty percent of the Liberian dollars salaries.
This comes a day some of the suspended lawmakers reportedly met President Joseph Boakai begging for settlement.
