District Superintendent Mr. Lombaye Barleah thanked Dr. Victor Kaizer for the tremendous works at the hospital and described him as a transformational leader.
Tappita, Nimba County – Residents of Tappita District on Friday November 22, 2024 honored Dr. Victor Kaizer for transforming healthcare delivery at the hospital and the district.
At an elaborated ceremony held at the Tappita city hall, the citizens in separate remakes appreciated and gowned the JFD Hospital CEO for his hard work which has restored sanity to the nation’s second referral hospital. The program was attended by scores of citizens including women, youth, elders, students, the district leadership and staff of the JFD Hospital.
Elder John L. Yelegar who gowned Dr. Kaizer on behalf of his fellow elders and the citizens, disclosed that Dr. Kaizer is a true leader whose works and interactions with citizens are unprecedented.
He maintained that the JFD CEO is indeed a patriot whose work is restoring hopes to patients at the hospital Elder Yelegar also called on Dr. Kaizer to push for the establishment of a training college that aids in training young people who want to venture into the health sector. He maintained that when said training institute is established it will be named in honour of Dr. Victor Z. Kaizer.
“He is really a good leader! Since he took over the hospital, his works are clear and we need not to explain them but please try to fight and establish the training. Gowning him is something we are happy and proud to do from the depth of our hearts. Today, on behalf of the people of Tappita, we confer on you the title “Gonkarnue” meaning man has come. He is a great man with great thinking evidenced by his works.” Elder Yelegar intoned.
At the same time, the District Superintendent Mr. Lombaye Barleah thanked Dr. Victor Kaizer for the tremendous works at the hospital and described him as a transformational leader with a deep sense of change and leadership. “We have seen the changes that have taken place since you returned to the hospital. This is a big boost for us in our health system at the level of the district. We want to assure you that we are always available to work with you in whatever way for the forward match of the district’s health system”, he averred.
For their parts the youth of Tappita through their president Mr. Kelvin Gongbay called on the JFD CEO not to be complacent but continue to push harder to ensure that the hospital regains its lost dignity. He maintained that as part of the Hospital’s corporate social responsibility, they want the CEO and his team to help in providing study opportunities for deserving youths.
“Dr., your time at the hospital will finish one day and you will leave but the hospital will remain with people who will continue from where you will stop. Without a prepared and competent young people, your vision to see the JFD meet international standards will not continue, so on behalf of the youth, we want some opportunity for our young people to be ready to serve our people too like you are doing.” Youth President Kelvin Gongbaye added.
Since his appointment, Dr. Kaizer has embarked on several initiatives aimed at revamping the hospital and healthcare delivery. Among his initiatives are: the cutting of vegetation under the tension wire transmitting electricity at the hospital, the regular monthly cleaning of the hospital’s environment, partnership with institutions that are providing drugs and medical supplies to the hospital, the payment of arrears owed by previous administration to contractors as well as regular monthly community health awareness.
Meanwhile, Dr. Kaizer in a brief remark thanked the people of Tappita for the honour bestowed upon him and assured them of his fullest commitment in ensuring that the Jackson F. Doe Memorial Regional Referral Hospital regains its position in the nation’s healthcare delivery system. He also disclosed that a forty-foot container which contained drugs and other essential medical equipment is expected at the hospital in January next year from the United States.
Dr. Kaizer was appointed early this year by president Joseph Nyumah Boakai as Chief Executive Officer of the Jackson F. Doe Hospital.
From July 2018 to January 2019, Dr. Kaizer served as chief administrator of the Jackson F. Doe Hospital before he was replaced by former Liberian President George Weah “because of his long-standing relationship with President Joseph Boakai”. He has also served as the lead clinician of Elwyn in Philadelphia. Across different private health and psychosocial facilities, Dr. Kaizer has served as a therapist and clinician.
Dr. Kaizer has over 15 years of solid experience in healthcare administration and clinical sociology. He holds a Doctor of Healthcare Administration (DHA) from the Virginia University of Lynchburg in the United States. He also holds a Master’s in Clinical Sociology from Marshall University with a concentration in Human Services. Dr. Kaizer also obtained his Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from Marshall University.
He holds another Master’s in organizational leadership from the Virginia University of Lynchburg. Dr. Kaizer also holds a post-graduate certificate from the Pennsylvania University in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT).
