Monrovia —The United States Embassy near Monrovia, has issued a statement urging lawmakers at Capitol Hill to uphold democratic principles and resolve the ongoing impasse at the House of Representatives.

The call comes amid growing concerns over tensions that have stalled legislative processes, sparking fears of political instability.
The Embassy emphasized the importance of maintaining peace, urging leaders to demonstrate unity and reject violence as a means of addressing differences.
“Violence is never the answer, and it serves no one’s interest,” the statement read.
The statement highlighted the need for open and transparent political processes to sustain Liberia’s democratic trajectory.
The legislative stalemate has reportedly hampered critical decision-making, with key national priorities hanging in the balance.
The US Embassy called on both sides to reach a compromise.
“Liberians expect their leaders to uphold democracy and its practices, including open and peaceful debate,” the Embassy statement further noted.
