The New Genuine Insurmountable Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE), on behalf of its political leader and standard bearer, His Excellency Ambassador Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr., as well as the National Executive Committee and membership of the party, extends profound condolences to the Carter family and the government and people of the United States of America on the unfortunate passing of former President Jimmy Carter.
MOVEE describes the death of former President Carter as a significant loss to global peace, democracy, and human rights. His life and legacy transcended the pinnacle of political power, showcasing his far-reaching humanitarian efforts and relentless contributions to resolving global issues.
According to MOVEE, the late President Carter will be remembered for his invaluable efforts in eradicating Guinea worm disease in Africa, resolving conflicts, supporting free and fair elections around the world including in Liberia through the Carter Center and building homes for those in need.
“Yes, indeed, in his life, the late President Carter saved countless lives, restored dignity to countless more, and worked tirelessly for peace across the globe,” MOVEE stated.
The party recalls the significant role former President Carter played in strengthening Liberia-United States ties, as evidenced by his visit to Liberia in 1978 during his presidency. MOVEE also noted that Carter was the longest-lived U.S. president in history and the first to reach the age of 100.
MOVEE remembers former President Jimmy Carter as an extraordinary leader, statesman, and humanitarian, marked by enviable character, courage, hope, and optimism. He embodied deep compassion and moral clarity, working to eradicate disease, forge peace, advance civil and human rights, promote free and fair elections, house the homeless, and advocate for the least privileged among humanity.
