During the early morning hours of January 2, 2025, the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) Detail Commander for Juarzon District #3 in Sinoe County received a tip-off regarding a Nigerian national in possession of a significant quantity of narcotics.
According to a press release dated January 8, 2025, the LDEA officers in Juarzon Detachment mobilized a team to the specified location in the bush.
During the operation, officers apprehended Maduke Mozia, a 51-year-old Nigerian of the Igbo tribe and was found in possession of the following substances: 141 grams of powder suspected to be heroin, valued at USD 4,935 (937,650 Liberian Dollars) , 18.5 grams of kush, valued at USD 350 (70,300 Liberian Dollars), 100 grams of precursor chemicals used in drug manufacturing.
Following his arrest, Maduke Mozia was turned over to the Sinoe County Detachment Investigation Section, where he is currently under investigation and will face charges in court.
