Nimba, Liberia, January 8, 2025 – Several business owners in Ganta and surrounding communities in Nimba County dismiss speculations in the county about their involvement in making human sacrifices or blood money to become prosperous.
They are distancing themselves from such public characterization, which some believe is responsible for their sudden prosperity ahead of other businesses in Nimba.
Ruling Unity Party former county chairman Pharaze Depah, chief executive officer (CEO) of Jungle Water Group of Investments, Tomah S. Floyd, Sr., among others, said they are not involved in blood money, attributing their successes to long-term standing plan and perseverance.
The NEW DAWN gathers that though they were never asked or coerced to come out, the local business tycoons are openly distancing themselves from such practices.
However, other business people in Nimba seem to believe this is true that hidden supernatural powers drive the successes of some of their colleagues.
According to them, despite being in business for over 20 years, they have yet to reach the top, but those who just got into business are ahead of them.
“What our big bosses are saying is not the real story; we are part of them, but we’ve not been able to move ahead,” they said.
The observation was made during the official dedication of the Dekpah commercial complex over the weekend in Ganta, Nimba County.
A total of 250 stores, including shops, warehouses, and office spaces, among others, will help create job opportunities for the people of Nimba and Liberians, particularly Mr. Pharaze Depah, proprietor, noted in Ganta.
Because of the rapid emergence of business entities, mainly in Ganta, many locals think they are abnormal. Editing by Jonathan Browne
