Monrovia – Prominent Liberian biomedical scientist, Dr. Dougbeh Chris Nyan, has expressed concern for his and his family’s safety after a bullet struck his home following a shooting incident in his neighborhood early Friday.

Dr. Nyan made a distressed call to Police Inspector Gregory Coleman to report the incident. However, Coleman, currently out of the country, referred Dr. Nyan to his team on the ground.

As of Friday afternoon, Dr. Nyan reported that the police had not visited his home to launch an investigation. Instead, they invited him to a nearby police station for questioning. Nyan found it ironic that the police would not send ballistic investigation officers to his residence but would ask him to report to the station.

FrontPage Africa has seen an image shared by Dr. Nyan that appears to show a pellet from a bullet.

The incident occurred just a few hours after panelists and guests on the Spoon Network live Facebook show alleged that he is being favored by the Boakai-Koung administration to take over as Director General of the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL).
