Gbedin, Nimba—January 20, 2025: On Sunday, January 19, 2025, Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung undertook an assessment visit to Gbedin Waterfall in Nimba District #2.

The purpose of this visit was to evaluate the region’s potential for development.

The Gbedin area, situated along the route to Sanniquellie, is renowned for its fertile soil and natural beauty, particularly the waterfall itself.

Accompanied by his entourage, Vice President Koung aimed to provide the Government of Liberia with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges associated with the upcoming construction of a mini dam at Gbedin Waterfall.

Following the visit, Vice President Koung expressed optimism, stating that once completed, the mini dam would significantly assist the Liberian Government in addressing the electricity challenges faced by citizens in the region.

He assured Liberians and the Minister of Public Works that the construction of the facility is scheduled to commence in February 2025.

Also present during the assessment were several government officials, including the Ministers of Mines and Energy, Wilmont J. M. Paye, and Public Works, Roland Lafayette Giddings, among others.
