WHY AMBASSADOR RICCARDO MILICI IS CONSIDERED AS A “DISTINGUISHED FRIEND” TO LIBERIA

The ever-growing influence of technology has meaningfully helped the entire world to be considered as a global village, and it has influentially helped to connect people from diverse backgrounds together in Liberia and elsewhere based on mutual respect; coupled with the ideology of promoting Foreign Policy and International Politics-two key pillars that bring win-win benefits to everybody during and after every negotiation.

A classical example of exhibiting the attitude of professionally diplomatic friendship glances at one of Liberia’s trusted friends-Riccardo Milici, an Adjunct Professor of Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Catania, and Liberia’s Ambassador At-Large who has continuously showcase positive characteristics; as evidence of his contributions to the Gabriel N. Dennis Foreign Service Institute, Liberia’s health and security sectors, among other valuable contributions that he has made which, have hugely  impacted the lives of people from all walks of life in Liberia.

Ambassador Milici commenced affiliating with Liberia when he joined a team of medical experts and visited the country. While in Liberia, the medical team provided treatment for Liberians with joints, bone, and muscle problems, utilizing telemedicine technology.’

Professor Riccardo Milici, a renowned researcher from Catania University widened his humanitarian assistance to Liberians, reaching out to churches, clinics, and communities in Montserrado and Grand Bassa Counties.

Liberia’s contemporary history, covering the period of 2005 and up to present-2025, cannot be entirely written, without capturing Ambassador Milici’s voluntary services, humanitarian activities, and practical contributions, which have greatly helped to modernize the “computer Library” of the Gabriel N. Dennis Foreign Service Institute, “voluntary” capacity building for security personnel at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Executive Protection Service (EPS), the Financial Intelligence Unit of Liberia now Agency, donations to the Monrovia City Police (MCC), educational materials for needed children in Congo Town, and donation to several communities in Montserrado and other parts of Liberia.

History looks at impact and as such, our unique country’s history and captivating culture that are so appreciative, have again inked Ambassador Milici, an Italian and Germany national who is so polite, people-driven, and a changemaker who has risked his life voluntarily contributing to the improvement of the Liberian society, particularly helping to strengthen Liberia’s health and security sectors.

It can be recalled that in December 2021, Ambassador Milici assisted and empowered the mini clinics at the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Health, and the Executive Protection Service (EPS) with life-saving medicines for the purposes of providing first aid services to public workers whose services are needed to improve all sectors in Liberia.

As a promoter of tourism and the empowerment of young people, Ambassador Milici, a Spine and Bone Specialist, is on record of engaging the Municipality of Santa Caterina, a renowned entity in Italy for the possibility of projects, enhanced collaboration, and promotion of intercultural exchange programs for young people who constitute most of Liberia’s population.

“He has treated over 400 people with bone, spine, joint, and paralysis problems.”

“Most of these diseases and deformities are treatable. But in Liberia, it appears that when you experience these conditions, you are cursed and cannot be treated. So, with my own inventions, I am very glad that I am helping people recover and to have confidence to live and be happy again,” Ambassador Milici stressed.

“Ambassador Milici is a renowned professor at the MSK Kinesis Pain International Institute based in the United States. He invented his own machines that he uses to successfully treat and cure people with these medical deficiencies.”

‘Additionally, he is on record of providing 100 bags of cement towards the construction of the Pentecostal Churches of Apostolic Faith International-Liberia Diocese national headquarters in Mount Barclay within Montserrado County.’

Over the weekend, Ambassador Milici was recognized as a Distinguished Friend of Liberia by the Mano River Media Network for his extraordinary, professional, and humanitarian assistance rendered to the Government of Liberia and private entities.

Borbor Koroma, an Executive of the regional media group, officially communicated Ambassador Milici’s selection for the honour to him via email.

It can be recalled that two renowned faith-based organizations, the Evangelical Children Rehabilitation Program (ECREP) and the Trumpet of Praise Tabernacle have awarded separate accolades to Ambassador Milici for his impactful contributions to Liberia and Liberians.
